Getting to Stellenbosch

Stellenbosch is situated about 40km east of Cape Town International Airport.
Uber is an easy and convenient way of getting from the airport to Stellenbosch.
​You can use the discount code DL-INDABA to get a discount on UBER services (and works within a 60km radius of Cape Town airport).
You can save by sharing a ride with other Indaba participants; use the Facebook group to check if anyone is arriving at a similar time.
Car Rental is available from most of the major agencies at the airport.

Parking on campus: parking will be available at Coetzenburg Stadium, a 10min walk from the Endler.

Indaba Venues

The Indaba will be held at Stellenbosch University, Stellenbosch, South Africa. The venues we will use are:

  • Lectures and Keynotes: Endler Hall
  • Practicals: NARGA Labs A, B, D, G, H
  • Parallel Sessions: Van Der Sterr Building
  • Coffee Breaks: Endler Foyer
  • Lunches: Neelsie Student Centre
  • Poster Sessions: Endler Foyer

Safety

Although Stellenbosch has always been a quiet and relatively safe town, it is not entirely free of crime. It may therefore be a good idea to take normal safety precautions, such as travelling in groups at night time, avoiding dark alleys, and always keeping an eye on personal belongings (this is important even on campus at the Indaba venues).
