Arnu Pretorius

Arnu is a research scientist at InstaDeep, a start-up specialising in decision-making AI for industry. He is based in Cape Town, South Africa, where he leads a research team working on multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL) in close collaboration with applied teams tackling real-world problems at scale. He is passionate about AI skills development in Africa and is regularly involved in initiatives that aim to strengthen AI talent across the continent. He believes it is possible for MARL to become a key technology of the future, capable of solving many important real-world problems and having a positive impact on society and the environment.
