Senior Research Scientist in Machine Learning at DeepMind
Jonathan Richard Schwarz is a Senior Research Scientist in Machine Learning at DeepMind and a PhD Candidate at University College London advised by Yee Whye Teh and Peter Latham. His work spans from Continual & Meta-Learning to Sparsity and recent work on neural compression, often using probabilistic approaches. Previously, he graduated top of his class from the University of Edinburgh and made contributions to climate change and robotics research in Japan and Germany. He previously organised a Hackathon at the DLI 2019 in Kenya, has given keynote at IndabaX in Sudan (2021) and participates in the mentoring program. In addition he is the founder and director of Eudaimonious, a charity focus on STEM Education and regularly participates in the Royal Institution’s scientific outreach programme.
